摘    要：

The synthesis of semiconductor nanoparticles, their luminescent properties, and device and biological applications are reviewed here. The nanoparticles exhibit various special characteristics compared with the corresponding bulk materials due to their small dimensions. Such properties make them very promising candidates for the applications in many fields such as light emitters, solar cells, sensors, and biological labeling.

个人简介：

范吉阳，男，教授，硕士生导师。1996年山东大学光学系本科毕业，2001年中国科学院理论物理研究所硕士毕业，2006年南京大学物理系获理学博士学位。多次赴香港城市大学物理与材料科学系从事学术访问（Research Fellow）。主要从事半导体纳米材料物理方面的研究。在Physical Review Letters、Small等国际学术期刊上所发表论文迄今已被引用270余篇次。2006年为材料学综述期刊Progress in Materials Science撰写关于碳化硅纳米结构的综述，2010年在Small上发表关于IV族半导体量子点的综述。第三届国际纳电子学会议（IEEE INEC 2010）地方组委会成员。Chem. Commun., J. Appl. Phys., J. Phys. Chem., Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys.等期刊审稿人。目前主持国家自然科学基金面上项目、教育部高等学校博士学科点专项科研基金项目和东南大学优秀青年教师资助计划项目等。
